It's all about what "catches your eye"

It could be a sunrise, a winding road, the next bend in the river, a clump of trees in a field, or the way the sunlight strikes nearby buildings creating interesting shadows. You never know what will "catch your eye" and compel you to grab your sketch book, camera, or create a painting.

It is my challenge to find out what the 'it' is that's "catching my eye" and then figure out why. Sounds simple, it might come to you in a flash or it can take hours of study and sketches to figure this out. Then after all has been discovered and compositional designs have been made, the real work begins.
